Client Need
Trafikverket is building a comprehensive infrastructure project in E4 to support the development in a rapidly growing Stockholm region.
Project Overview
Infinity Mätkonsult participated in the building of concrete tunnels, widenings, ponds, walls, asphalt works, to enable in the future the circulation of around 100,000 vehicles per day.
Excavation and retaining structures
Road widening and excavation works require careful coordination around the existing road and temporary retaining structures.
Tunnel construction
The project included concrete tunnel works at different stages, from structural reinforcement to the construction of the tunnel lining.
Surveying around active infrastructure
Work around tunnel approaches and existing traffic calls for accurate measurements coordinated with ongoing construction activity.

Challenges
Widening of the existing roads, two concrete tunnels (one on each side of the existing E20 road at the Förbifart connection), emergency exits, rock tunnels, rock wire cutting, comprehensive ground reinforcement work as sheet piles, curtain grouting, rock blasting, rock bolting, polluted soil excavation, sewage system and VA, bike trails.
